About the IDTR

What is The IDTR?

The purpose of the IDTR is to take the works of students from around the world, who have received a Masters or Ph.D., and publish their thesis or dissertation in native HTML format. This effort allows works that would otherwise be lost in obscurity to be available to the world at large.

The ITDR is a not-for-profit public service site. The philosophy behind the IDTR is that personal science aids individual growth while public science aids all of humanity. The IDTR is not limited to just science, however, and it is here to make all works public.

Why the IDTR?

I got the idea for the IDTR from my own work. My dissertation of RS CVn binary star systems was some 800 pages in length. It was (and is) a complete work in that everything needed to reproduce the effort is included in the two volumes of my publication. But who was going to ever read it? Only a single small paper was ever published that gave we brief summary of the final results, and there are only a hand full of people in the field. I decided to convert the entire content to HTML. This conversion was no small task since the document was written is at least 4 different software packages. It did manage to get it done, and I knew that there must be thousands of works that are lost in obscurity every year simply because the authors do not continue to pursue their original line of research.

Financial Contributions

I can use all the help I can get to expand the site to include a vast number of works. If you want to make a financial contribution to help keep this site up and running, please contact me at:

For now, it's my own dime and my own time.
